About Us
Dennis Holzman Antiques is a rare, used, & out-of-print books & antiques shop located in Cohoes, N.Y. We take pride in our accurate book descriptions, excellent customer service and professional packing.
Since 1975 we have offered for sale a unique blend of historically significant items, traditional antiques and fine art, stylish objects, rare and out-of-print books, printed ephemera, manuscripts, and photographs. Most of our inventory is purchased directly out of local homes and is fresh to the market, a result of having built a reputation for honesty and fair purchasing practices.
We also provide a wide range of services from collection consultation to estate sale management and from informal evaluations to formal appraisals. The latter we have provided for numerous individuals and institutions, including: The Albany Institute of History and Art, Sage Colleges, Schenectady Police Department, New York State Archives and Special Collections, The Hyde Collection, Fleet Bank, Union College, and The Canajoharie Library and Art Gallery.
Owner Dennis Holzman has been professionally affiliated with the Manuscript Society and the Ephemera Society for over 25 years, has lectured extensively on the history of photography and Americana (printed and manuscript), acted as research assistant for multiple publishing projects, co-founded a national auction company devoted to historical items, and has served as an Americana consultant to several major auction houses.
Dennis Holzman Antiques occupies spacious newly renovated space in the heart of the Cohoes, New York business district at 111 Remsen St. The former Woolworth storefront now houses a gallery with an extensive collection of books, paintings, autographs, photographs, antiques and local history. It is appropriately located within walking distance of numerous historic sites, including: Harmony Mills, Erie Canal locks, Cohoes Falls and the historic Cohoes Music Hall.
Terms of Trade
We accept personal checks, money orders, MC/Visa, and PayPal.
Shipping & handling:
$4.50 for the first book; additional books after the first, including multi-volume sets as well as larger, heavier books or sets may require extra postage. We will e-mail you if this is the case. Orders outside of the U.S., please inquire for shipping costs.
NY State residents: You must add 8.00% sales tax to the combined book price and shipping, or send a current tax ID#. We cannot ship until we receive the sales tax.
Returns: You may return a book for a full refund including postage within 14 days after receipt of your book if the book is not as described.
Canadian buyers: If you are paying with a money order or personal check, the money order or check must be drawn on a U.S. bank, in U.S. dollars. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we cannot afford to absorb the charge levied by our bank for deposits not meeting these criteria.

Trading Hours
Shop hours are Monday-Friday 11-5 & Saturdays 11-3. If you call outside business hours, leave a message & we'll return your call as soon as we can.
