Spine is rubbed with a small tear at the top left of the spine section, the rear panel has some of flecking, the top right hand corner of the front board is bumped, the paper covering the hinge at the front of the book has deteriorated exposing the webbing and the tissue guard for the frontispiece is partially detached. Similarly the paper over the hinge at the rear of the book is deteriorated. Nonetheless in good condition. Our objective was to represent by typical instances Ireland as a whole; and so, to a number of places and districts up and down the country we were looking for what would help to realise, for ourselves and others, Ireland as she is, as he has been.
