Heinemann, 1972, Hardcover, Book Condition: Very Good, Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good, First
X, 212 pages, in original blue papered hardcover binding. Illustrated dustjacket. Browning/foxing of the top and front edges of the text block. Ownership inscription at the top of the front free end page. 1 inch tear at the bottom left of the front panel of the dustjacket, and chipping of the protective laminate along the front fold over crease. Slight chipping of that same laminate at the top of the spine. This novel is about political license and licentious poets: an ingenious plot is filled out unfulfilled successively with a dry wit and a gift for tightly woven narrative -- front fold over blurb. No mention is made that the author was a successful scriptwriter for the Australian film and television industry (I think he wrote scripts for the series Rush). In a quick scan of the book, I wonder whether the Malley affair was the Genesis for this book. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1. Category: Fiction; ISBN: 0434271659. ISBN/EAN: 9780434271658. Inventory No: 0232846.
