Allen Lane, 1979, Hardcover, Book Condition: Very Good Condition, Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good, First Edition
450 g; VI, 234 pages, in original colour illustrated dustwrapper. Ownership inscription dated 1980 on front end page, and the dust jacket has three of vertical ripples on the rear panel, which, in my opinion were caused by the original owner having protected the book with plastic that had been fitted to tightly. Otherwise the book shows no signs of damage. Translated from the Italian by George Salmanazar. This book is the moving autobiographical story of furious opposition between man and nature, father and son. The author spent his first 20 years tending the family flock of sheep, then time in the Army, and finally university. He now has a doctorate in linguistics. The film of the same title which won the Golden Palm prize at Cannes in 1977 was based on the book. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1.
