The text is illustrated throughout with black-and-white, and colour photographs, many full-page. A history of model soldiers, literally from prehistory to current (1972) times. Slight rubbing of the heel of the spine, with a couple of threads pulled, and slight spottiness to the top edge of the text block. The top corners of the fold over is the top of the spine rubbed.
