480 g; IV, 352 pages, in original boards. Errata bound in with the book suggests that this is a reprint. The back strip, the right-hand centimetre of the rear panel, the left-hand half centimetre of the front panel are faded from exposure to light. Offset tanning of both front and rear end pages, and traces of foxing to the edges of the text block, proofreading notations in pencil for the first 40 or so pages. Illustrated with black-and-white photographs from the Imperial War Museum, compliments the mixture of poetry in the Homeric style with the prose that is interspersed. E.g. the battle of Cambrai, 20-27th November 1917. This battle was carried out on the British side in an unusual way, which accounts for the complete surprise that overtook the Germans, and the comparatively small loss of life on our side. Size: 12mo (Small Hardcover). Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Photographic. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: History; Poetry; Inventory No: 0216201.
