Green coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured decoration and titles to the front panel and back strip. Bookplate by Phillip Lichfield created in 1927 for J. M. Hammond please see photograph. An omnibus of six plays, short, from this playwright. Plays include: The First and the Last, The Little Man, Hall-Marked, Defeat, The Sun and Punch and Go. Softening to the back strip edges and to the book corners. Minor rubbing to the boo panels. Browning and foxing to the text block edges and lighter browning and foxing to the pages. Offset tanning to the end pages and quite heavy foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book. Previous owner's name to the top right hand corner of the free front endpaper and original bookseller's sticker to the lower right hand corner of the front paste-down, with the aforementioned bookplate to the same area.
