The text is illustrated with seven contemporary illustrations or reproductions of letters. Light blue coloured cloth covered boards with gilt initials of Byron and Teresa embossed to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the backstrip blue coloured tint to the top text block edge. The title says it all, but this book is more than just reproduction of letters to and fro between the two lovers, it is also a snapshot of life in the early part of the 19th century in Italy and of a Byron that is not necessarily well understood. The author has also included other letters written by Byron and Teresa two other friends and family to give a fuller overview of the lovers and their times.
