Green coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the backstrip. The biography of Commander C.D. Smith, skipper of a Yangtze River steamer, Shanghai Harbour Pilot, Captain of the U. S. S. Wake, and a prisoner of war of the Japanese, who escaped on numerous occasions. Softening to the backstrip edges with bumping and fraying of the book corners. Heavy sunning to the backstrip with lighter sunning of boards along with a few marks. Browning of the text block edges and pages. Offset tanning to the endpapers. Previous owner's rubber stamp to the top right hand corner of the free front endpaper. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [8], pre-243, [5] pages..
