Green coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured decoration and titles to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Green coloured tint to the top textblock edge. Photographic dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A book that brings together history, legends, poetry, practical gardening hints, flower language and pollination – along with other snippets of information, on flowers. The book is showing age and wear. Softening along with browning to the backstrip edges and there is fading and Browning to the other book edges. The front and rear panels are bowed, and at some stage. The book has come in contact with moisture and the results can be seen along the top edge of the front panel, top textblock edge and a little on the lower edge of the rear panel. Browning and faint foxing to the textblock edges and light age toning of the pages. The top textblock edge has water splatter. Shipping to the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges. Heavy rubbing to the fold over creases and either side of the backstrip, lighter rubbing to the panels. Bleeding of the book colour to the verso of the dustwrapper – commensurate with water contact.
