The text is illustrated with maps and black-and-white line drawings by Barbara Corrigan. Blue coloured cloth covered boards with silver coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper with blue and pink coloured titles to the front panel. The story of the author and her husband, who built a road through the dense jungle of Brazil and created a farm through toil and hard work. Softening and rubbing to the backstrip edges with rubbing to the book corners and lower book edges. Browning of the textblock edges and age toning of the pages. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower left-hand corner of the free front end paper, which has slightly ghosted to the front paste-down. A little chipping and small tears to the top dustwrapper edge with chipping to the backstrip edges. Fading to the backstrip and sunning to the rear panel.
