Dark maroon coloured cloth covered boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Pale red coloured tint to the top text block edge. Illustrated dustwrapper, being the publisher's colophon against a green coloured background with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. An abridged version of the 17th-century diarist Samuel Pepys' monumental output. Collins Pocket Classic series -- number 332. Softening to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and rubbing to the lower book edges. Browning to the textblock edges and of the internal pages. Previous owners rubber stamp to the top right-hand corner of the front paste-down. Rubbing and chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the backstrip.
