Since their arrest in 1950 to the time of their execution they wrote letters to each other, and once their final petition for clemency had been rejected they chose the letters of this book as a fund for their two sons. In the book the Rosenbergs. "... do not argue the justice of the case, nor for revision of this sentence, but make explicit the drama of torn lives and an up rooted family.
