Illustrated endpapers, showing Arabian astronomers practising the art, former would cut of 1513. The title page is illustrated with Galileo's drawing of the Pleiades from Siderius Nuncius (The Starry Messenger), fairness, 1610. The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white illustrations, star charts and 24 coloured plates. Navy blue coloured cloth covered boards with gilt embossed illustration of an Astrolabe to the front panel and gilt titles to the backstrip.
