Bumping and fading to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the book corners. The spine is somewhat cocked. Browning and faint foxing to the text block edges. Browning, offset tanning and a few handling marks to the end of papers and foxing to the half title page. There is black marker to the top right-hand corner of the free front end paper. Colour illustrated dust wrapper, with yellow and black titles to the front panel and black titles to the backstrip. Rubbing and chipping, to the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges, there is loss. There is a 4 inch tear to the top edge of the front dustwrapper panel (the tear arcs into the body of the dustwrapper and then heads toward the edge again) with associated creasing. Numerous tears to the top and bottom dustwrapper edges. Browning to the backstrip and heavy rubbing to the rear panel. A previous owner has supported the larger tears of the dustwrapper with tape, tape still in situ, to the verso of the dustwrapper. A novel set at the height of the Cold War where a private investigator, Buddy Mustard, excepts a job form MI5 to round up a gang of murderers of displaced persons (read dissidents and defectors of the Soviet bloc).
