395 g. (combined weight); IV, 5-88 pages, the last page. There is a four page, folio size, foldout map at the beginning of the text -- showing a map of Colony of New Zealand from Official Documents, there is also a small world map showing position of New Zealand in comparison to the rest of the world. The text is illustrated with two steel etched plates: -- the first showing part of Lambton Harbour, Port Nicholson, New Zealand (Wellington) and a another seel etched plate showing New Plymouth Settlement, in the District of Taranaki. Blue coloured cloth covered boards with self embossed decoration to the front panel and gilt titles to the same area. A little rubbing and fraying of the backstrip edges and book corners. Browning and foxing to the text block edges and a few marks to the book panels. From page 79 through to the end of the book there is a small black ink mark on the front fore text block edge. Browning and minor foxing to the endpapers and browning to the internal text. The foldout map at the beginning of the text has a tear measuring 3 inches with a left horizontal component measuring 1 inch -- commensurate with rough handling of opening of the map. Navy blue coloured cloth covered slipcase, which opens out like a book, with gilt titles to the backstrip. Rubbing to the slipcase corners and some rubbing to the slipcase edges and panels. An account, very early, of the settlement of New Zealand. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Illustrated. Quantity Available: 1.
