Red coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. An early novel from this author. Part of Hutchinson's Colonial Library Series. The book is showing age and wear, and suitable for rebinding. Softening and rubbing to the backstrip edges and to the book corners. The the spine gutter has split to within 0.25" of the lower edge. There are small splits to the other three backstrip corners.,underlying board is visible to all backstrip corners and to the book corners. There has been heavy staining and light fading of the cloth to the book panels and particularly to the back strip area. Cocking of the spine. Browning and foxing to the text block edges. Offset tanning and browning to the endpapers along with some handling marked. The internal pages are brown and foxing is noticeable. Previous owner's name to the free front endpaper and original bookseller's rubber stamp to the lower right-hand corner of the free front endpaper. please see photographs.
