The text is illustrated with 16 black-and-white illustrations and six maps. Light blue coloured boards with gilt writing to the back strip. The rubbing and bumping to the head and to the heel of the back strip and to the book corners. Light browning to the text block edges and to the internal pages. Plain text dustwrapper with a red background and white and red decoration to the extreme edge is black and white writing to the front panel and black to the back strip. Rubbing and a little chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the back strip. Rubbing is noted to all edges of the dustwrapper. There is a 1.25 " tear to be lower left-hand front spine gutter edge. There is a smaller tear, 0.5", to the top left-hand corner of the front spine gutter. A history of Australia, from being " Terra Australis Incognita " [ Unknown South Land ], until sucessful and permanent British colonial society had been established. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
