The text is illustrated with 40 coloured illustrations, and numerous black-and-white illustrations of various artists of the post impressionistic period. Coloured laminated boards, being a reproduction of George Seurats' painting " A Sunday Afternoon on the Ile de la Grande Jatte, 1884-5 ", with yellow and white coloured titles on the front panel and black coloured titles to the spine. Illustrated dustwrapper, same illustration as for book, with yellow and white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the spine. A small book about the post impressionistic artists, who through their tenacious clinging of their artistic belief against tremendous protests, laid the foundation of 20th century art. These artists include: Van Gogh, Cezanne, Matisse, Bonnard and others. A little bumping to the book corners and a shelfwear to the lower book edges. Some rubbing of the book laminates. To the lower page edges there are three distinct stain marks. The lower right hand corner of the Contents page has also become creased. Very little rubbing to the dust wrapper edges. There are some blue and black stains to the top right-hand corner of the back panel. Other stains have also occurred at the rear fold over edge. First English Translation.
