VIII, 192 pages, preface by W.G. Pope, list of illustrations. Black-and-white photographic frontispiece, showing Australia house, London and of the author and her husband. The text is illustrated with 16 black-and-white photographs from the author's travels. Pink coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and the book corners are slightly rubbed. Major damage to the book has been that the top one third of the front panel, and a little to the top edge of the back panel of the book, has come in contact with moisture and consequently the cloth has become affected -- stained and discoloured. Browning to the paper edges and there is browning to the endpapers and internal pages as well. Previous owners address stamp is on the lower right hand corner of the free front endpaper and title page. Photographic dustwrapper, showing Lake Derwentwater in England with a pink background with white writing on the front panel and spine. The dustwrapper is in pretty awful shape, it is rubbed, faded and quite grubby. Rubbing and chipping, with loss to the dustwrapper corners and to the head and to heel of the spine. There are a few small chips to the top dustwrapper edge. The lower front panel edge has a 0.25 " tear and a 2.5 " piece missing -- closest to the spine. The back panel is stained and there is also a hole in the middle of the panel closest to the spine commensurate with erasure. There is the remains of a sticker to the front dustwrapper panel and there is also lifting of the photograph -- commensurate with removal of sticker. Clipping of the dustwrapper, front fold over, lower right hand corner which has also a crease running its length. Travel writing from the 1950s from Australia to Europe and America. The book is signed by the author both on the free front endpaper with the dedication, " Warm Greetings ' M. V. Kanimbla ' Cruise", and her signature on the title page as well. This is the first UK edition. Size: 12mo (standard paperback). Dust Jacket price-clipped. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo.
