XII, 130pp., last blank, foreword by General Blamey, General commanding the Australian Imperial Force in the Middle East, editorial note, list of illustrations. Illustrated endpapers by maps, both different, front end paper showing the North coast of Africa, rear end paper: showing the eastern side of the Mediterranean. Illustrated frontispiece by Ivor Hele. Within the text there are 12 coloured illustrations either done by Ivor Hele ar Harold B. Herbert, black and white photographs, and black and white illustrations, and maps, all illustrations were done by serving members of The Armed Forces. Bone coloured front board with dark brown illustration of Australian soldier, with dark brown writing on the front panel and spine. Bumping and creasing to the corner edges of the book and to the head and to the heel of the spine. Grubby marks and dust marks to the extreme edges of the book, the front panel being worse than the rest. Browning and foxing to the paper edges which has also occurred to the internal pages. On the half title page there is an inscription stating "All the Best Arthur, then a list of places fought, and the signature of previous owner.". Photographic dustwrapper, showing sculptured figure by Lieutenant Lydon R. Dadswell, with gold background and white writing on the front panel and spine. The dustwrapper is extremely rubbed, chipped and faded. There is a "pinch" is missing from the top panel edge and the top of the spine has a piece missing measuring 0.5". Grubby marks and other sundry marks are present on all panels, and there are various tears to both the top and bottom dustwrapper edge.
