Blue coloured boards with gilt writing on spine. After inheriting a small patch of land bush Stan Parker builds a rudimentary house and brings his new wife, Amy, to share a life. They face everything life has to offer – birth, death to natural disasters – and through Stan and Amy Parker the author gives a memorable portrait of human resilience. Corners of the books are bumped, the bottom back being bumped to the board underneath. There is rubbing to the bottom edges of book and dust marks to the top edge. The head and the heel of spine is very rubbed and bumped, and there is the suspicion of a tear to the top spine gutter. Panels of the book are scuffed and rubbed and the spine sunned. Dust marks to the top paper edge and the other edges are also marked between pages 115 -- 141 the corner has been creased downwards. Foxing has commenced on the first few pages and last few pages of the book and booksellers sticker on the front paste down along the previous owners name on the ffep.
