The text is illustrated with 105 color plates and 6 pages of drawings, all done by author. Red coloured boards with gilt embossed title on front panel and gilt writing on spine. Photographic dustwrapper, showing a jade pendant, with black background and white rubbing on front panel and spine. A book about jade, particularly New Zealand version -- greenstone. The author not only helped discover forgotten Maori rock drawings, but also helped reinvigorate lost Maori arts and crafts in regards to greenstone. Slight rubbing and bumping to the backstrip edges and there are dust marks to the book edges. The dustwrapper corners and the backstrip edges are rubbed and chipped. There is a 1.25 " tear to the lower edge of the front dustwrapper panel with associated creasing. Rubbing to the dustwrapper surfaces. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
