Black and white photographic frontispiece, of the Rev Sydney Leonard Buckley and the text is illustrated with archival black and white photographs. Dark blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the front panel. Illustrated dustwrapper, of the original building of Ivanhoe Grammer School by G. S Warmington. Buff coloured background with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. This book was commissioned to celebrate the 50th year of Ivanhoe Grammar Schools' operation, but it was also to celebrate the founder's life and work: the Rev. Sydney Leonard Buckley. The corners are rubbed and there is shelf wear evident to the bottom edges of book. The head and the heel of spine are quite heavily bumped. There are some dust marks to the top paper edge and other marks to the other paper edges. There is a brown stain on the endpapers measuring 2.5" x length of the book. The corners of the dustwrapper are chipped and there is evident of insect activity on the top right-hand corner on front panel, middle of front panel, bottom right-hand corner front panel, and along the fold over edge of the back panel. There are grubby marks to the front and back panel. The top edge of the dustwrapper is bumped commensurate with bumping underneath and there is a 1" tear on top dustwrapper edge close to the spine.
