MARK LEMON. Tom Moody's Tales, London: Bradbury & Evans, 1864. 12mo, second edition, pp. [ii], 173, 2 (ads), red cloth boards with a gilt horse-and-buggy scene inside a floral gilt frame, all edges gilt, 13 hand-colored illustrations by Hablot Browne ("Phiz"). Not in Tooley, as this book is generally not found with color plates. Lemon is identified as the editor, but he was actually the author. The tales involve equestrian activity, including a bullfight with a toreador on a horse. Phiz is probably best known for his work with Dickens. Condition of this book: Poor. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Front board is detached. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. Illustrator: Phiz. Quantity Available: 1.
