Small quarto, first edition, pp. xx, 296, brown leather boards with red label to spine, all edges tinted orange, endpapers apparently added (this is a rebinding), illustrated by Pyle. BAL 16378. Brown endpapers are called for here, but in the present copy they are white. Condition of this book: Chunk of spine label perished. Offsetting from a bookmark shows on both sides of one leaf; overall clean, tight, very good. First Illustrated Edition, or first by this illustrator and in this format. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
