Recently he discovered the diaries of his surgeon father, serving in (then) Mesopotamia, and found the references to the then position of Iraq and Palestine interesting in view of today's political turmoil in the area, and his own direct knowledge of post World War II Palestine and Israel. Includes interesting commentary on the activities of the little-documented US 92nd Negro Division operating in Italy during World War II..
