137pp; "Fire in a Hole!" the universal warning cry of miners and powder monkeys, alerting their fellow-workmen that the fuse of a blasting charge had been lighted. This warning, in perhaps a dozen different languages echoed through the workings of Thurber's mines for more than 30 years. This is the story of Thurber, TX, once the largest city between Fort Worth and El Paso, located halfway between Fort Worth and Abilene; Second printing in the rare hardcover format; Personal inscription by author with an ownership label on front inside cover; Green boards with only minimal shelfwear; The only real flaw inside is actually a publisher's flaw, rather than due to ownership issues. When this copy was printed, pages 109 - 110 were actually printed on two pages that were stuck together instead of front/back of one page. So, it appears that there should be two more pages in between them, but both are correctly blank, and no text is missing; Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 pound. Category: History; Signed by Author. Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request. Inventory No: 102441.
