Size: 16mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Green paper over boards, engraved frontispiece, two title pages, one with an engraved illustration, "A New Edition, Revised and Corrected", 252 Pages. Paper on boards is extremely worn such that printing on front and back is faded and nearly unreadable, spine is virtually gone, repaired with some sort of black tape with two holes cut in, one of which reveals the title on original spine, corners worn and rounded off, gift inspection written in ink on front paste down, previous owner name in pencil on front paste down, previous owner name embossed on front paste down, title page and frontis have a damp stain and foxing, interior pages have some random light foxing and other sorts of stains, damp stain in bottom gutter throughout a good portion of the text. Originally published in 1751, this story is early science fiction; Wilkins is shipwrecked in the Antarctic and reaches a land where the inhabitants - including the beautiful Youwarkee - can fly.
