Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. This is a Livingston family copy, with the bookplate of John Henry Livingston on the front pastedown, gift inscription on the front free endpaper reads: "John H. Livingston from Uncle Robert". Green gilt stamped pebbled cloth over boards, frontis with tissue of a bust of Edward Livingston, Introduction by George Bancroft, XXIV, 448 pages, Index; Edward Livingston was both a Senator and a US Representative, as well as Secretary Of State and Minister to France. Corners and spine ends are bumped with wear, gilt on spine is faded, cloth is bubbled in spots, cover soiled, foxing on frontis and frontis tissue; interior is very good, with no writing or marks, no foxing and the binding is sound.
