Biography of Abdus Salam, the first citizen of Pakistan to win a Nobel Prize, who was nevertheless branded as a heretic and excommunicated from his home country, where his achievements are often overlooked, even besmirched. During the 1960s, Fraser wrote some short-story fiction as a hobby. By 1970 Fraser combined two very different interests by becoming a reporter for Computer Weekly and later returned to science as an in-house writer and editor at major laboratories. From 1980-2002 Fraser was Editor of CERN Courier, the monthly magazine of the international high energy physics community.
