This complete collection contains: Contents list; Introduction; Life of Sir Thomas Overbury; Overbury's poem 'The Wife', written to dissuade the Earl of Somerset from marrying the infamous Countess of Essex (both of whom were later found guilty of occasioning his murder by poison in the Tower of London); the 'Characters'; the first & second part of 'The Remedy of Love'; 'Observations on the XVII Provinces as they stood A.
