Harold Dusty Miller was a popular illustrator and newspaper cartoonist from the 1930s to the 1950s. Miller was also well-known for his illustrated publications. A rare survivor - Its A Fact - is a miscellany of 400 curious Manx facts and tales, produced in the 1930s and 1940s. He was a founder member of Douglas Art Group. Most of Miller's cartoons were satirical, and one of his favourite subjects was the ongoing squabbles between the House of Keys and Douglas Corporation, the largest local authority on the Island. Miller was born in Liverpool on 4 August 1897 and came to the Isle of Man in 1926, when he married a Manx woman. He was a self-taught artist. He died on 31 August 1964.
