The front panel has the remains of mould spots with the back panel having a lesser amount. Corners are bumped as is the head and heel of spine. There is a small amount of foxing to the top edge of the paper and there are some dust marks as well. Previous owners name on ffep. Book store stamp on front paste down. Illustrated dustwrapper, with white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. The dustwrapper has some minor chipping along all edges and heavier chipping on the head of spine of the dustwrapper. The dustwrapper has faded. This book was written in 1955 and "it is a description and interpretation of community life in the Australian Commonwealth, the nation that came into being on the first day of this century.".
