Trained alongside his father, Antonio, a partner at Vetri Artistici Fratelli Barovier. Archimede worked for various workshops, including the family-run enterprise Seguso Vetri d'Arte (1937-73 and 1976-92) which he left in 1942. He was a leading figure in the twentieth-century revival of Venetian glass-making traditions, re-interpreting ancient Venetian traditons such as filigrana, to produce lacework patterns which he called 'merletti'.With stunning illustrations.
