350 g; 160 pages, bound in original brown papered boards, edges of the text block slightly darkened with age, previous owner's name at the top of the front free end page, offset tanning of the half title page and the last page of the book. Small tear at the top right top left and bottom centre of the front panel is edges, now protected. A wryly humorous & affectionately endearing account of a Jewish childhood in Soho 50 years ago. London's Latin quarter had its thriving "ghetto" in those space days. The author was born there in 1911, one of 5 children.
