Slight shelf rubbing to the base edge of the boards, and ageing of the edges of the pages, the dust jacket is rubbed, and chipped, at the top and bottom of the spine section and of the front fold over crease. There is an inscription on the front end page to Hilda M. Wotherspoon signed by the author and dated 2/5/51. This is the story of Christian West, who was a good Victorian who became Ship's Captain and made a name for herself in the days when women were not expected to tackle a man's job at all -- let alone with spectacular success.
