glossary. Black coloured cloth covered boards with green coloured titles to the backstrip. Softening of the backstrip and rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Some rubbing to the book panels. Browning to the textblock edges and light are browning to the internal pages. A few stains to the textblock edge. Offset tanning to the endpapers and previous owner's name and rubber stamp to the front paste-down. Previous owner has put a small sticker with the number 608, to the front paste-down. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with white and pink coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Author photograph to the rear dustwrapper panel. Chipping to the backstrip edges and book corners. There is a 1.25" tear to the lower left-hand corner of the front dustwrapper panel and from that tear there is another tear, which arcs into the body of the dustwrapper, measuring another 1.25". Faint fading to the backstrip region. Some browning to the verso of the dustwrapper. This book is based upon the author's own experiences as a soldier of Major-General Wingate's air invasion of north Burma in 1944. It tells the story of a small band of British soldiers, dropped behind Japanese lines in Burma in late 1944, and who are under the leadership of a N.
