(8) IX-XXVI 453 pages (3), foreword by E.H. Graham, Minister for Agriculture, author's preface glossary of the technical terms and index. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photographs, colour photographs and black-and-white illustrations. There is also one double fold out map showing New South Wales. Red coloured textured cloth covered boards with gilt titles embossed to the front panel. Bumping, rubbing and slight fraying to the backstrip edges and book corners. Browning to the textbook edges and to the internal text. Previous owners name to the top edge of the free front end paper. The front hinge has cracked between the frontispiece and the title page, underlying webbing is visible. Black and white illustrated dust wrapper, against a yellow coloured textured card background with black titles to the front panel and backstrip. Rubbing to the dustwrapper edges, panels, either side of the backstrip and to the backstrip itself. Chipping to the top right-hand corner of the front panel and to the backstrip edges. Small tears to either side of the top backstrip edge. There is an area to the top edge of the front panel which appears to have come into contact with glue as there is some adherents of paper to the area and erosion of the underlying card. Handling marks and stains are also present to the dustwrapper . This is a classic text which was first published in 1932 and has had many reprints since. It goes in to the trees of New South Wales, both native and introduced and gives information re: "their botanical features, distribution, soil requirements, general usefulness and cultivation, the utility of the various species from the farmers' and pastoralists' points of view being particularly emphasised.".
