X, the 11-224 pages. Blue coloured boards with dark blue titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with white titles to the front panel and backstrip. " Gregory Quist, famous railroad detective, on his way to Corinth City comes across a dead man sitting in a rowing boat in the middle of the desert. Nearby he finds the dried scalp of the Comanche Indian. These are the grim clues to a story of treachery and murder." -- from the half title page. Bumping and rubbing to the backstrip edges, book corners and to the top edge. Slight marking and fading to the book panels along with foxing. Browning and foxing to the text block edges and there is browning to the internal text and foxing to the first view and last few pages of the book. Rubbing and chipping to the dustwrapper corners, backstrip edges and to the top and lower edge of the front panel. Heavy rubbing to the spine gutter edges and lighter rubbing to the dustwrapper panels. There are numerous small tears to the dustwrapper edges with associated creasing and there are pieces missing from the dustwrapper edges, the largest piece missing is from the lower left-hand corner of the rear dustwrapper panel.
