Brown coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper, by Peter Black, with red background and white and black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The first appearance of that Edwardian amateur burglar -- Raffles. Eight short stories that were first published in 1899. A little rubbing to the head and to the heel of the back strip and browning of the text block edges. There is browning of the free front end page, that has a very distinct line of demarcation. Browning of the internal pages. Rubbing and creasing to the top and bottom dustwrapper edges. The back strip region is faded. The back dustwrapper are panel has become yellowed and there are a few marks. On the first so side of the dustwrapper foxing is noted. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. IV, 154 pages..
