336 pages, index. The text is illustrated with 32 pages of black-and-white photography. Tan coloured cloth boards with gilt writing on the spine edge. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and shelfwear to the lower book edges. Browning to the paper edges. Offset tanning and browning to the endpapers and internal pages have become a little age toned. Coloured illustrated front dustwrapper panel, showing Swan Lake and on the back a montage of black-and-white photographs. White writing on the front panel and spine. Rubbing to the dust wrapper corners and to the top and bottom dust wrapper edges. Rubbing to all dust wrapper creases. Dust wrapper a little faded and that head and the heel of the spine are also a little creased. Browning to the verso of the dust wrapper. The memoirs of the ballet impresario S. Hurok, who became the first important ballet presenter in 20th century America. The dancers he dealt with included Anna Pavlova, Isadora Duncan, Robert Helpmann, Margot Fontaine plus many more.
