448 pages, Foreword by Editor, appendices, index and acknowledgements. Black-and-white photographic frontispiece showing men getting a book prepared for press. The text is illustrated with an eight-page insert of coloured illustrations/photography, copious amounts of black-and-white photography, black and white illustrations and black-and-white sketches. Red coloured boards with self embossed illustration of a press on the front panel with gilt writing on the spine with another small self embossed illustration on the lower spine edge. Shelfwear to the lower book edges and a little discolouration to the top. Rubbing to the book corners and the front panel cloth has become faded and " spotted ". The spotting on the back panel is less. Browning to the paper edges. Browning with the occasional foxing spots to the endpapers and the internal pages of very slightly tanned. Plain text dust wrapper with yellow and green background and black decoration with grey and black writing on the front panel and yellow on the spine. The dust wrapper use rubbbed, faded and quite grubby. Rubbing and chipping to the dust wrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the spine. The lower front panel edge has a few small chips with associated creasing. Clipping of the dust wrapper, front fold over, lower right-hand corner.
