XXVII, 294pp., Marked while engaged in the lost art of reading, author's note, notes and index. Green coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and, to the front top and lower book corners. Shelfwear to the top and bottom book edges and there is heavy dust marking to the top paper edge and all paper edges have browning and slight foxing. The cloth of the board has become slightly faded. Offset tanning to the endpapers and original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste down. Internal pages slightly brown. Plain text dustwrapper, with grey and white background with red and black writing on the front panel and spine. The dustwrapper is rubbed, faded and quite dull. Chipping, with loss, to the dustwrapper corners and to the top spine edge. Results of insect activity can be seen on the top left-hand corner of the rear dustwrapper panel and to the front fold over edge. Chipping to the top rear panel edge and to the lower front spine gutter edge. Browning and dust marks to the extreme edges of the dustwrapper. Price clipping has occurred to the front fold over, lower right-hand corner. On the verso the dustwrapper, browning and rubbing is very visible. One of the first books on globalisation, the author arguing "... that the smaller countries throughout the world must eventually be united into large and balanced economic blocs: 1 -- Asia and East Russia; 2 -- West Russia and Europe; 3 -- The Middle East; 4 -- Africa; 5 -- America, Canada Mexico and Brazil.
