Illustrated endpapers, both different, front endpapers showing a map of the Middle East, rear endpaper showing a map of Southeast Asia. The text is illustrated with contemporary black and white photographs. Grey coloured boards with blue decoration and and writing on front panel and blue writing on the spine. The head and the heel of the spine are bumped and soft and there is minor shelf wear to the bottom edges of the book. Illustrated dustwrapper, showing a woman climbing up a ladder against a ship, with white writing on the front panel and spine. The corners of the dustwrapper are rubbed and the top two are chipped, and some chipping to the top and bottom edges as well. There is a 1" tear to the top back dustwrapper edge, also a long the top spine cutter. The dustwrapper is sun affected, particularly noticeable on the front panel and spine. There are stains noticeable on the verso of the dustwrapper. "This book tells the story of Australian woman doctor's travels while on active service with the British Army.".
