list of illustrations, list of maps. The text is illustrated with 134 black and white photographs taken by C. Jeffrey Holme, and six maps. Yellow coloured boards with maroon embossed writing on top of front panel and on the spine. Top edge red. The corners are bumped and rubbed, the front being worse than the back, at front, underlying board is noticeable. There is rubbing and bumping to both the top and bottom book edges as well as the head and heel of spine. The cloth of the book is discoloured, dirty and marked. There are patches of fraying of the cloth on the book. Marks to the other paper edges. Previous owners stamp on the front paste down and free front endpaper. Endpapers are marked with dirt and foxing but internally the pages are clean. A tour around the Eastern Mediterranean, concentrating mainly on ancient civilisation sites. Places visited: Genoa, Istanbul, Naples, Livorno, Sicily, Greece, Rhodes, Damascus, Palestine and Egypt. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. VIII, 120 pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
