Quarto, first edition, pp. xiv, 78, printed boards quarter-bound in black cloth with a paper label on the spine, 8 color plates, top edge tinted yellow. The plates are by masters of Japanese art, including Utamaro, Hokusai and others. They were made by the House of Watanabe, which cut copies of the original woodblocks. Condition of this book: Dust jacket is missing pieces but still good. Book is near fine with some age-toning, especially to the end pages. Prints look great. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
