Heavy quarto, expanded edition of a 1923 work, 5 pages of introduction, 1,366 pages of font charts etc. tabbed dividing leaves, black morocco-covered metal loose-leaf binding with gilt-stamped lettering to the spine. A comprehensive display of fonts from Adastra to Weiss, as used at the Bundscho works, an advertising design and typesetting company in Chicago. At more than 16 pounds or 8 kilos, this is a feat of book design, with an elaborately engineered loose-leaf mechanism, which works fine here. Uncommon; auction records show it last appeared at auction in 1993. A Worldcat search turned up 5 copies. Owing to the weight of this work, overseas shipping will be expensive. Condition of this book: Very sturdy, covers marked a bit, scuffing to the endpages, pencil marks on the title page, overall very good and sound as a brick. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
