Folio, first American edition, pp. 211, 1 (note), red cloth boards with gilt stamped lettering to spine and front, original mylar overwrap, numerous color plates showing the windows Chagall created for a synagogue in Jerusalem, including two original lithographs. Probably the most prized of Chagall's lithographic books. Condition of this book: Mylar wrap is foggy with a corner missing in back panel. Jacket wavy, chipped and worn at edges. Covers bright, rubbed at bottom of spine, small stain at top of spine. Fore edge foxed, top and bottom edges discolored. Lithographs fine. This is the first USA edition. Size: Large Folio (bigger than A3). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact.
