Dance of Japan, Tokyo: self-published, 1956. 12mo, English-language edition, pp. 61, white paper-covered boards, halftone photos, errata slip laid in, signed in Japanese on the free front endpaper by the author and Hiroshi Asada, whose relevance here is unknown to me. Also laid in is a silver gelatin photo of the author in dance costume, inscribed by the author on the reverse, plus her business card and Hiroshi's business card. The text is a history of Japanese dance and how it was influenced by Western dance. Asada was a dance critic as well as a dancer. Condition of this book: Overall very good; jacket discoloring with some chipping at the edges. This is the first USA edition. Size: 12mo. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
